B~STEM Project's We Hack Too powered by Microsoft and in collaboration with KellyOCG took place this past Friday and Saturday, June 24-25. More than 150 girls participated in our 1-day Product Development and Design Incubator and Intro to Coding sessions as well as the virtual hackathon. The national event took place inside Microsoft stores in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and San Francisco. The girls ranged from ages 8 to college level women. Leading professionals participated from top companies such as Snapchat. Hulu, IBM, Motorola, Survey Monkey, Google, Clarifai and more. The Mayor's Office of Tech + Innovation gave a few words at We Hack Too NYC and Commissioner Robert Steele encouraged the girls in We Hack Too Chicago.
At the close of the virtual hackathon, 16 teams submitted their projects which made We Hack Too international - Canada, Finland and Bolivia. The final judging for We Hack Too international takes place this week and the finalists are to be announced this Friday, July 1st.
