In the last 4 years, WITI has seen a significant increase of members who have moved into entrepreneurial roles. A percentage of these women have developed small businesses within large corporations; others have started a small business as a secondary source of income while continuing to work in corporate, government or academic sectors; a percentage have left those sectors entirely to join or start their own businesses. Toward that end, WITI has been expanding its services, support and programs for small businesses' members, including a newly created small business membership designed to support healthy growth and expansion of WITI Small Businesses.
