What was your first job and what did you learn from it?

My first job was a mathematical analyst for General Electric in their Space Division. The key things that I learned from this job is that your own personal initiative is what makes you succeed at your job.

Who is your hero, mentor or person you most admire? Why?

My mentor is Leo Daiuto, my boss. He is also one of the people I most admire. The reasons for my admiration is the fact that no matter how successful he is, he still remembers how to treat people with respect and dignity. He knows how to make people feel good about the job they are doing and about themselves. He has excellent business sense and combines that with his ability to get the most of people to deliver his business requirement.

What are you most proud of (either professionally or personally)?

I am most proud of the fact that I consider myself very blessed to have an excellent family and an excellent set of friends.

What advice would you give to young women who want to enter your field?

Women that want to enter the computer field should start by getting a well-rounded education. They should set career goals for themselves and work diligently to achieve those goals. Team well with others and do not be afraid to voice your opinions.

What is your favorite book?

I cannot say that I have a favorite book but I have a few favorite authors: Mary Higgins Clarke, John Grisham and Leon Uris.

What is your favorite Web site?

The Web site that I access the most frequently is the Stock Market Web site. I use this to keep abreast of the price of some key stocks but also the major news of these companies.

What do you see as the single most interesting element of your work?

The most interesting element of my work is staying abreast and being part of the latest technologies in the computer field.

What was your darkest moment (professionally) and what did you learn from it?

The darkest moment of my professional career was the financial hard times that my company went through. The thing that I learned from this is that I could personally help by being positive and working hard to deliver products that would help improve the company.

What do you do to relax?

For relaxation I like to participate in sports, read, knit and do crossword puzzles.
