Marcia Radosevich has the vision, confidence, and knowledge to be one of the only female chairmen and CEOs of a publicly-traded software company in Massachusetts. She applies more than a decade of experience in healthcare to managing Cambridge, MA-based HPR Inc., the premiere developer of medical management and provider profiling systems. To firmly position HPR as a leader in the dynamic healthcare environment, Dr. Radosevich recently guided the Company through a successful IPO, registering shares on NASDAQ:HPRI.
In the 1980's, managed care companies were looking for ways to contain healthcare costs. Dr. Radosevich, who was working on a research project for Boston University's non-profit Health Policy Institute, recognized this need and formed HPR (formerly Health Payment Review) with co-worker Richard Egdahl, M.D., in 1987.
Dr. Radosevich built HPR upon the Company's flagship product CodeReview, which is now one of seven expert software applications from HPR helping healthcare organizations manage resources efficiently while maintaining high quality services. Currently, HPR has more than 300 customers across the country, covering more than 70 million lives, including: Kaiser Permanente, U.S. HealthCare, Healthsource, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans of Kentucky, Tennessee, and New Jersey.
Dr. Radosevich combines an academic background in sociology with extensive experience in healthcare, specializing in the application of research-based technological solutions to corporate healthcare cost problems. Before founding HPR, she was Regional Director of Managed Health Care Services, Inc. (MHCS), where she developed and managed a preferred provider organization (PPO) for The Travelers Insurance Companies. Prior to MHCS, Dr. Radosevich managed Chrysler, GM, and UAW accounts for Health Data Institute, a healthcare consulting firm in Lexington, MA. She has also served on the faculties of Yale University and Boston College.
Dr. Radosevich is a member of the prestigious Committee of 200, a national organization of preeminent businesswomen who personify the spirit of leadership. She is also a member of the Minority and Women Business Enterprise Oversight Committee for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Iowa, her home state, and received a Certificate in Business Administration from the Wharton School.
